The Pennsylvania Forest Products Association began in 1980 as the Hardwood Lumber Manufacturers Association. The group was created to provide a unified voice on state legislative and regulatory issues. In 2003, the Association changed its name from HLMA to PFPA, and at the same time expanded its membership to include all sectors of the forest products industry.
